Las Baulas Resort Hotel

Las Baulas Resort Hotel is a 400-Room ground up hotel and casino on the north side of Puerto Rico. This project has breath taking ocean views with beach frontage along the Atlantic Ocean.
Las Baulas features twin hotel towers connected by a curving guest room tower. The building’s podium includes a 20,000 SF oval shaped and sky-lit casino that is in the shape reminiscent of a sea turtle’s shell.

Careful master planning and designing took place to comply with regulations that promote environmental conservation including the protection of the leather back sea turtle’s reproductive beaches of the north shoreline. The design of the towers were influenced by solar angles that would limit the shadows cast onto the beach that would otherwise affect the sea turtle’s reproduction and spawning process.
Improvements were made to the local neighborhood which covered an outdoor basketball court and a 2,000 SF indoor environmental center for rescued wild life with aquatic tanks that included an open air amphitheater for environmental education.
